Introduction to our services
We are very keen to provide you, as a business customer, with the service you would choose. We want to advise you how to use water efficiently and minimise your costs.
We offer enhanced service levels to our business customers, covering subjects such as interruptions to supply, water quality and billing. Please see our online publication Business Customer Charter or request it by phoning 01202 590059 for full details of these service levels.
The majority of our business customers have a water meter and are billed according to how much water they use. Meters are read and bills are sent out at least twice a year. Where a customer uses a large amount of water, or we are requested to, we read and bill on a monthly basis.
A small number of businesses are not metered and receive an annual bill based on the rateable value in place on 31 March 1990. This occurs where we are unable to install a meter due to complex pipework. In this case bills are unaffected by water use.
Are you a ‘business customer’?
When we use the expression “business customers” we mean all of the following: commercial, industrial, agricultural, educational, health, religious, charitable or others where the premises are not solely used as a person's home.
