Data logging and E-metering
At some of our customers’ premises we have fitted data loggers on to the water meter. These measure the night-time flow of water into a site at 15-minute intervals and the data we gather is mainly used as a component part of our leakage calculations.
If we have fitted a logger at your premises we can provide you with detailed flow data in graphical format via our E-metering website. This service is free of charge.
If there is no logger at your premises but you would like to receive flow data we can arrange this for you and the cost of the service is in our water charges booklet.
If you do not want continuous data we may also be able to log your supply for a short period, for example one or two weeks, and provide you with a snapshot of the flow into your premises. (This is provided that your existing water meter can accept a data logger connection.) This flow data can be especially helpful in identifying your usage profile and any leakage that may be present.
You can see E-metering in practice by clicking on the E-metering button below and entering the user name test1 and password test1. This is a demonstration site with limited data so not all functions work but it should help you to evaluate whether the service could be of use to you.
